Vulnerability in Apple’s iOS Can Lead to Hacking

It is warned by security firms that there is a vulnerability in iOS of Apple for iPad, iPod as well as iPhone. According to Symantec, such a vulnerability can be used for taking complete control over vulnerable devices. Despite the fact that it was revealed the thread exists on paper, still Apple should take some actions and issue a fix. As for Apple, the company knew about that vulnerability and started to investigate it. The problem is laid in the way Mobile Safari deals with PDF documents of Adobe Acrobat. Because the browser opens PDF files automatically, it is possible for a hacker to embed malicious code into the file. To prevent Mobile Safari from opening PDF files automatically, it is required to jailbreak a handset and then install an application, which is known as PDF Loading Warner. With the help of this app you will be asked for permission to open a PDF file. It was declared by US authorities that it was legal for owners of iPhones to jailbreak their devices. But in case if you do not want to got through jailbreaking, still there is one more option, i.e. to switch to another web browser, such as Opera. In fact, Apple has always been slow especially it was concerned fixing problems on their Mobile browser. But let’s see what measures the company will take.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 Fires Up Over RIM

It is not always easy to decide what should be changed and what should be left alone especially
if it regards a product that has been successful for several years but has fallen behind times.
But it looks like RIM has managed to navigate this line by means of its new handset – the
BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone. But still it is hard to believe that the new mobile device of
RIM will be able to draw customers away from Android devices as well as iPhones.

It is a small and solid handset that can meet the requirements of business users who are looking
for something practical and at the same tine lightweight. It is enabled with the multimedia and
it can become your next smartphone. But a big emphasis is given to information access. As
a matter of fact the handset features a smaller display and the resolution is not so powerful
compared to other smartphones. But one should not omit the fact that it is able to offer enough
flexibility that will keep most users of BlackBerry from leaving the fold.

Currently, the BlackBerry Torch is offered only by AT&T. The handset will hit the shelves on
August 12. It will cost you $199 with a two-year contract along with a data plan.

 Apple Is Loosing Its Dominance

It was in 2007 when Apple launched its iPhone for the first time. A that time the company
encountered a lot of speculations suggesting no device that is different from other handset
would be able to exist in the world that was governed by trackballs, keyboards as well as other
mechanical functions. It was a risk for Apple.

Since those times things have changed greatly in the Market of smartphones. As a result, the
Apple’s device set the standard for smartphones that lately was overtaken by Android platform
of Google. According to reports Android has managed to capture about 27 percent of U.S.
smartphone sales.

Still one can say that it has become the second time when Apple heard news that Android-based
devices can outpace the iPhone. Despite the fact that Apple is a dominant force in the market of
mobiles, still its position can fade away.

As a matter of fact, Google is on its way to mobile dominance, which can lead Apple to the
second place. But it is not bad news for Apple as still the company will be able to beat all
competitors. But according to numbers of overall market share, Apple’s dominance is over.
